Questions owners ask us
Do I need an OpenAI or Gemini account to use TendLead?
No. The default No-API mode answers from the information you give it: your Q&As, business info, documents (.txt, .csv, .pdf) and your own website pages. You can add a Gemini or OpenAI key later to switch to AI or Hybrid mode. The key stays on the server and is never sent to the visitor’s browser.
Will it work on my website?
If your site runs on WordPress, install the TendLead WordPress chatbot plugin. For any other HTML site, paste one line of embed code before the closing </body> tag. Every site is set up with its own allowed domains, branding and settings.
How does the appointment booking work?
You set your services, working hours, breaks, buffer time, days off and how far ahead people can book. Visitors pick a service, a date and an open time shown in their own time zone, then confirm. Both of you get a confirmation email with a calendar invite, the visitor gets a link to reschedule or cancel, and an optional reminder goes out 24 hours before.
Can two customers book the same time slot?
No. Every booking is re-checked against your hours, capacity and existing appointments the moment it is confirmed, so a slot can’t be double-booked.
What happens when the chatbot doesn’t know an answer?
It politely offers the lead form, a call or a text instead of guessing, and logs the question to an Unanswered list. You can turn it into a new Q&A with one click, so the bot gets smarter every week.
How do I get notified about new leads?
Each new lead or booking sends you an email alert, and can also fire a webhook to your CRM or other tools. Leads are saved with name, phone, email, service and ZIP code, and can be exported to CSV.
Can it reply in Spanish?
Yes. TendLead replies in English and Spanish, including the booking and lead forms.
Can I make it match my brand?
Yes. You choose the colors, avatar, position and launcher style, set a welcome message and a proactive greeting bubble, and can remove the “Powered by” footer on supported plans.
